Welcome to the The Morris 8 Club website. Club members will be able to log in to the site and access various resources.

We are some 240 members from all walks of life, from the North and South Islands of New Zealand, as well as Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.

We all have a passion for Morris Eights.

Morris Eights were produced from 1935 until 1948. The factory models were the two seater, four seat tourer, two door and four door saloons, and a 5cwt van. The two seater is commonly referred to as a Sports.  The Series E two seater was a military version with less than 1000 produced. Model designation of the first 1935 models has become known as Pre Series, changing to Series 1 in mid-1935. The Series 2 came into being in September 1937 and was replaced by the Series E in September 1938. The Series E van was designated Series Z. There were other body styles built on the Eight, especially in Australia. A quite wide range of interesting models were produced including coupes, roadster utilities and many others. British builders such as Jensen also bodied some chassis.

Morris Eights we the most popular small car (less than 10hp) in NZ from 1936 to 1949

The 918cc engine evolved gradually, it was the UB for the first Eights, USHM for the E’s and USHM2 for the following Minor. They were also used as auxiliary power generators in Centurion, Conqueror and Chieftain Tanks, now popularly known as “tank engines”. They were also used in industrial situations, luggage trolleys, marine, (known as the Vedette) the President Tractor and probably more.
